The Spring Edit

Well… here I am… writing a Spring blog post… on the first day of Spring… in the snow.
Seriously? The first day of Spring we have a snow day?

Either way, I am mega inspired for new clothes for alllll of the upcoming trips I have planned.
Here’s just a couple of them, but we all know my “Yass and Pass” Polls on InstaStories is where you can always find what I’m being inspired by.

Sweater Weather

Hellloooo friends!

So it’s been so hot for “Fall” weather, but it’s finally starting to cool down in the D.C. area!

This sweater is perfect for this weather, aka cool mornings and warm weathered afternoons. I have been wearing it so often- I think people wonder if I own anything else.
Either way, I bought this from Free People, and I own it in this cream color as well as a deep grey. It’s like a blanket with sleeves, but way cuter than a snuggie.

Aka best of both worlds.

Thanks for checking in!

Fall Basics

Public Service Announcement: Basics are a NECESSARY. (and cheap)

I used to be sooo into patterns and bright colors.. to the point where I didn’t own a black v-neck, or even just a plain white tee. A pair of denim and a solid tee has been my fall uniform this far (and most likely forever will be). However, basics don’t have to be boring, especially if you find the right ones for the right price. This tee is one of my favorite burgundy/wine colored tees and I found it for 12 bucks at my local Marshalls. I have linked a ton of my favorite basics, allllll within college-friendly budget. Just pair with Fryes, Combats, Hunters, Vans, Converse, wait I can go forever. This outfit goes with every shoe/pant/skirt combo you already have in your closet.

Thanks for the pics Savannah!

Little Gingham Dress

Happy Wednesday!

So I have worn this dress so many times already. It’s so easy to dress up or down, depending on whatever kind of look you’re going for! Also, it’s under $13. Honestly! I would suggest to size up on it. I also linked a higher quality one if you want a more reliable size chart! Oh, and for everyone asking, Savannah and I saw this puppy across the lawn at the waterfront and asked if we could take a few photos with it!

Hope you enjoy!

Edgy & Sweet

Happy Tuesday!

Like you already know, I am just getting into this whole blogging thing. Not sure how to fully make it my own just yet. BUT! I did step out of my comfort zone the other day to meet a photographer in Georgetown, D.C., and had a total blast. Her name is Savannah Brown, and she is one of the sweetest, kindest people I’ve ever met! Also, she somehow made me look like I am not the least photogenic human that has ever lived. Thanks for that, Sav!

I wanted to get into a different look while shooting. Not extra, just a little more out of my comfort zone. I ended up loving it, and hope you do too!

Let’s do it!

I Tried ROMWE So You Wouldn’t Have To

Screen Shot 2017-07-18 at 6.19.57 PM.png

For everyone who isn’t a six-figure-a-year-blogger, we have got to stay on trend somehow too… right?

Today I am doing a quick round up of some items I got in the mail from ROMWE. This post is in no way sponsored! I chose a couple of things I thought would serve me well over the next couple months. There are definitely some hits, but definitely some misses.

Let’s just start this rant, if you all don’t mind me. (For reference, I am 5’9 130)

  1. Drop Shoulder Boxy Sheer Mesh Top – Um, yes. I have been looking everywhere for a slouchy, comfortable black mesh shirt. I was at first thinking a bodysuit would be cute for going out to the bars or downtown, but I actually can wear this kind of shirt more places than just out! I love the slouchy shoulders, and it’s just the perfect amount of “oversized” on me! The quality was surprisingly good for the price.
I got a size MEDIUM. On top of that, it’s only $4.80.… ok bye.
  2. Gingham Print Cami Dress – Another HIT! I am so so so so happy about this dress. Long story short, I wanted to see if this kind of dress cut looked good on my body type. So I can order one that I know will be good quality! I am a huge fan of Shift items, and this was almost the same cut, just more fitted. It’s like, boxy-fit… is that a thing? Either way- the quality is alright, I mean you get what you pay for. Not great, but I was ordering for future reference for a great quality dress! This piece is so easy to dress up and dress down, if you’re looking for something easy, I would suggest this dress.
I got a size LARGE in this dress, and so glad I did. This thing runs SO small.($12.99)
  3. Choker V-Neck Drop Shoulder Print Tee – Moving right along. I am so interested by this shirts material. I’m not sure if I love it- or hate it. It’s 95% polyester, but I definitely thought it was going to be cotton. Oh well! I’m still diggin’ it! It is a cool piece, I am thinking on pairing it with mega distressed jeans, or lace up pants? Not sure yet. Simple black oversized band-tee deal you are working with.
I ordered a size SMALL in this shirt- and it’s still “size large looking”. Super big! ($15.60)

  4. Black Lace Patchwork Hollow Back Cami Top – HIT. For some reason I thought this shirt was going to be more silky, but it is polyester too (except for the lace part). I actually really love this shirt. I knotted the bottom and wore it with high waisted jeans, and it is the perfect way to sexy-up a mom look, while feeling comfortable. Best of both worlds, right? I could wear this shirt to the park, bars, or bed. That’s the kind of shirt I will always be on the lookout for.
I ordered a size SMALL, and it’s true to size, in my opinion. ($5.99)

  5. Yellow Contrast Top Bar Aviator Sunglasses – Hmm, maybe my least favorite thing in the bunch. I have been looking for a good pair of cheap yellow aviators because they are definitely a trend, but will not be in for long. They are a little cheap, but heavy enough for the price. They are fully metal, no covers over the tips of the bars, so it’s a little strange, but I guess that is the look too. Not my favorite, but still will wear them around. ($7.99)

  6. Red Oval Shaped Flat Lens Sunglasses – YEP. Another hit. I’m crazy for these! They are so cool and retro. I think the quality is pretty good according to the price, too! They are very different than any of my other sunglasses. They really change an outfits look. I would wear these with that boxy-fit gingham dress no doubt! ($7.99)
  7. Crochet Trim Blue Bikini Set – Skirrrrt. Avoid this. I ordered a size medium and I am spilling out of this. The quality was initially decent, but I threw it in the washer and dryer and I couldn’t even put it on afterword. I wish I could have. It’s a great dupe. Oh, and the elastic detailing started to come apart from the fake-neoprene, so I was literally spilling out.
    Again, I ordered a size medium. ($17.99)

  8. Contrast Stripe Ring Zip Up Ribbed Cami Top –  Well, it’s for sure a retro Tommy Hilfiger look-alike. I don’t mind this shirt at all. A pair of light wash jeans and my Tommy elastic sneakers would look so cute! Maybe even those red sunglasses again… It’s one size, so it doesn’t have much room for me to say anything. I think I have a longer torso, so it’s like an elongated crop top on me. 9/10! ONE SIZE ($6.40)

Do me a favor and leave a 🛍️ emoji on my Instagram post if you want me to do more reviews??

Your support means THE world to me. I’m 22 and starting a blog like everyone else on the planet. But here YOU are. Reading! I want to know more about you guys! I love meeting people! DM me on Insta! 💕

I am figuring out this whole blog thing slowly but surely. I finally got my own domain name figured out! Woohoo!

Okay enough from me.

Bye Babes,

Positano Travel Guide

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

I had to wear my new handmade sandals in the sand because it was SO hot!

It’s not every day you get to travel around the world to see things you have never seen, in places you never thought you could have been, right? Especially when you are only 22 years old. Three weeks ago I traveled to 5 different countries, around 13 different cities in less than 3 weeks. One of those places was Positano, Italy.

How WE got to/from there:

  1. Ferry Boat! We arrived on the quick ferry boat from the city of Sorrento just around the bend. Positano is a city in the Amalfi Coast, located on the southwestern coast of Italy on the Tyrrhenian Sea. And WOW was it stunning. We docked and went to find our hotel located on the famous hill in Positano. We didn’t know there was a street, so Connor ended up walking up over 200 large steps with our luggage. (Sorry about that C!)
  2. Car! So you can definitely take a car ride from the city of Sorrento, but if you get car sick easily, I would avoid it. We took a private car from Positano to Pompeii, and I have a pretty good stomach for boats and cars and just motion in general, and even I was starting to get a little nauseous. I can’t imagine how Connor was feeling. Our driver was great, so it wasn’t that- it’s just you’re constantly going around bends and curves along the coast!

Anyway, we explored the area a bit, walking through the majority of the town by ourselves. It was so much fun! I wish we could have explored more, but the city itself is actually quite small.

Drink + Watch

Eating at Caffe Positano! Watch is linked below!

Where WE ate:

  1. Caffe Positano:  We ate here first! This is where I got the best view for the photo of my Daniel Wellington Watch and wonderful glass of rosé. We split a Caprese salad and each had a glass of wine to cool off. Such a wonderful little spot with a great view!
  2. Il Tridente: Il Tridente is a restaurant located within the Hotel Poseidon Positano. I ordered the fish of the day, and Connor got the buffalo mozzarella stuffed ravioli. Both were absolutely amazing! We split a bottle of the house red wine as well. Definitely worth trying!
  3. Pizza for Take Away: Guys I am kicking myself over the name this place but I cannot remember or find it! It was right on the waterfront, and we got pizza to go! We walked around the town as we ate at night and just wandered. It was a total blast, the pizza was cheap, and sooo so so good!

Now, I don’t know about your vacay’s- but mine have to include a good bar at this point… which brings me to my next, very important subject:

Where WE drank:

  1. (Night 1) Francos Bar: O. M. G. Please do not get me started on this bar. Franco’s is a bar affiliated with Le Sirenuse hotel, one of the most famous- if not most famous- hotels in the city. It was absolutely stunning! If you saw my insta-story at the time I went- you were lucky. We were treated with the upmost importance, and had wonderful, wonderful drinks there. I had a Peach Bellini, and Connor ordered a La Dolce Vita, which was Bombay Gin, Pomegranate, Lime, and Prosecco! Music was blasting, people were chatting on the rooftop, and the view was insanely beautiful.
  2. (Night 2) Il Tridente: Pause. We got the most AMAZING Lemonchello Spritzes here! (After dinner) They also had chocolate covered orange peels (literally so amazing) and Cocoa powdered, chocolate covered nuts as little treats! Guys, no joke. They had the sweetest staff and there was a live guitarist playing from when we sat down to dinner until after we had left! It was so unbelievably beautiful.

What WE did:

  1. The BEACH: We spent one full day at the beach in Positano. It was around 20€ each for beachfront seats (so worth it). Bring your own towels, bottle of wine (or two) and lots of sunscreen! The rocky sand was so hot you could barely stand on it without frying your feet off. Luckily the water was ice cold- so it was so refreshing after sweating in the beach chairs! The payment comes with a waiter service, so we had buckets of ice on our order every few minutes to keep our wine chilled and ready for a drink. (HINT: I ordered a Lemonchello Granita, sort of like a lemon icee, and poured my rosé into the same cup on accident, and my life has never been the same.)
I wish we could have taken a boat out or went paddle boarding to the secret beach around the corner, but you know what they say: time flies when you’re having fun.

Oversee of Positano

Overall, the trip was so unbelievably unreal. I had the most amazing time with the most amazing person, and 3 days, 2 nights was enough time in my opinion. I wouldn’t mind if I had to visit again… So, whose taking me next?
